1) What business problem did Probench / 73bit Limited solve?
73bit developed a self-service user management feature that enables participating companies to add new users and remove inactive users from their surveys. This feature is currently undergoing a user acceptance test and will be released with Textile Exchange 2023 Materials Benchmark program.
2) What pain was the business problem causing Textile Exchange?
For security reasons, a security code was required for a participating company to add new users to the survey. However, as companies often did not remember their security codes, they would email Textile Exchange when they needed users added. Additionally, as the removal of inactive users was an administrative function, companies also needed to email Textile Exchange when there were role changes. This posed a significant administrative burden for Textile Exchange every year.
3) What was your overall mood around this problem?
The legacy user management process was laborious and frustrating for both participating companies and Textile Exchange.
4) What would have happened if the TE wasn’t able to solve this problem with Probench?
Continuing the legacy user management process would result in diminishing user satisfaction from the laborious process, wasted resources that could be better invested elsewhere, and potential security risks from outdated user access.
5) What benefits did the TE receive from Probench or by working with 73bit?
Probench was originally developed for programs with pre-registered companies and users. Several years ago, 73bit supported Textile Exchange to develop a secure registration process – at that time, a feature that was not required by other programs using Probench. The development of this latest feature adds to the self-registration process by enabling companies to manage their users.
73bit’s open and collaborative approach to system improvements has allowed Textile Exchange to customize Probench to suit the needs of the Materials Benchmark program, streamline our processes to create efficiencies, and position our program to scale.
