Article summary

The best way to help companies and motivate them to participate we think providing an effective feedback using which they can make sense of the data they provide. Following are some of the ways we can provide them the feedback:

Preliminary / Unverified Summary Report

If the assessment you are conducting is a public assessment where analysts assess the companies using publicly available information then preliminary reports comes very handy which can give the companies an initial idea about their scores in each of the areas and why did they score good or bad. This report is named preliminary as this is based on the preliminary assessments by analysts. Sometimes this report is also called Unverified as the assessment is not yet verified by the companies which were included in the assessments.

Instant Feedback Report

This is similar to the preliminary reports above but this is mainly used when your assessment is a self-assessment i.e. when companies provide their own data. This report is named as an instant report as this report would be generated as soon as the companies complete their submission. This helps them to immediately get their own scores and the areas they need to improve or they are already doing good etc...

Question-by-Question Report

This is the type of report where each of the indicators / questions are listed down with the responses provided by the companies or analysts. This reports helps the companies to share each of their responses to their leadership team and also helps to find individual scores they have achieved for each of the indicators / questions. This can also help them to know at the minute level on how they could improve their performance and what to work on going forward. This report can help the companies with detailed analysis.

Final Summary Report / Final Benchmark Report

As the name suggest this report should be prepared at the end of the complete cycle. This final report should give the companies a complete idea of where they stand as compared to their sector, industry region etc.. There can be automated recommendations or next steps provided in this report based on the scores they have achieved, they can also be provided with the strengths, weaknesses etc.. This will not only help them understand themselves better but also understand how to progress.

Full / Details Report

This report can have the combination of Summary and Question-by-Question Report to get all the information in a single report for better experience. It can contain data at both summary level and indicator level. So a single place to get both the information.

Digital / Web based Reports / Scorecards

All the reports mentioned above can also be created in a digital format i.e. accessible on a web browsers instead of downloading a file. Creating a feedback report in digital format can help make the report more interactive, and give a bit modern feeling which adds to the user experience. If needed these reports can have various filters to drill down on certain data etc..

Microsites

This is an upcoming trend where you can create a microsite i.e. a website to mainly publish the overall results which can display consolidated outcomes using various charts and graphs, tables. As its a website you can have multiple pages with various information categorized which would be helpful to the companies reading the data. The main advantage of creating a microsite is that it gives a focused approach as it would have the content focused on the outcome of a specific assessment. It can help creating a one-stop-shop for any information related to the benchmark.
